Meet Dr. Jurack
Dr. Jurack Has a Story: My first exposure to chiropractic care came in grade school when my parents brought me to a chiropractor after finding out I had a scoliosis (abnormal spinal curvature). I have always been involved in sports and continued to use chiropractic care throughout my high school and college years to keep me injury free and operating at peak performance. Not knowing whether or not I wanted to become a medical doctor, or a chiropractor, I decided to take advantage of the shadowing program at Carroll College where I was studying pre-med. After only shadowing the medical doctors around for a couple hours, I knew this was not going to be my path in life. The atmosphere was sterile and cold, and the patients were coming in unhappy and drained. The doctors saw numerous patients in a relatively short amount of time and prescribed the same meds over and over again. By contrast, when I shadowed the chiropractor, the atmosphere was warm and caring, and the patients were coming in happy and ready to get well. I noticed the doctor spent time with each patient and was treating the cause of the problem. The patients were there to get healthy and acted alive when they were leaving the office. I then started working for this chiropractor and loved it! We saw miracles every day.
Once in chiropractic school, I started to have allergies, sinus problems, and was noticing more fatigue and side pain when I went running. I tried a variety of OTC and prescription medications recommended by a MD, but they did not help beyond symptomatic relief. As soon as I stopped taking the medication, I noticed the symptoms got worse again. They were not getting to the cause of the problem. A friend of mine then recommended her chiropractor in Chicago, who was able to diagnose my problem and get me healthier than I had ever been up to that point. I found out things about my body I never would have guessed in a million years. I found out I had food sensitivities, weak adrenal glands, and I was toxic. I not only noticed resolution of the problems I mentioned above, but my whole body started functioning better. Even things I just thought were normal for my body got balanced and healthy again. This approach was exactly what I was looking for and I was hooked. I knew I could help others achieve more than they could ever imagine with their health too. This became my model.
I graduated with honors from Carroll College in Waukesha Wisconsin. Upon graduation, I attended the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard Illinois, where I graduated Salutatorian of my class. After graduation I took over 300 hours (okay I have lost count in the past 12 years and it is probably a lot more than this) of kinesiology and functional medicine coursework and training. I received a professional speaker certification, and I am a Care Partner for Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I have been in practice for 15 years.
Dr. Jurack Has Special Training and Skills: My additional training is in Applied and Clinical Kinesiology, and Functional Medicine. My certification as a professional speaker has led me to speaking locally as well as to chiropractic students and my colleagues on a variety of health topics. In 2010 I set a Wisconsin State record in bench press for my division.
Dr. Jurack Likes Helping Her Patients: I find the best part about treating patients is being able to work with them and find a natural solution to the cause of their health problem(s). It is rewarding to help them reach their goals. It is very gratifying to help someone who may have been given little hope that their condition (s) would get any better and that they would be on medication the rest of their life. It totally changes lives and families. It excites me to see the infant, or child come in and in a short amount of time see them get healthy based on treating the cause of the problem and not just covering up the symptom. I enjoy working with the athletes and others who want to live life at the top of their game, knowing their life will be better and more vital. I also find I learn a lot from my patients on a variety of topics.
Dr. Jurack Has an Active Family Life and Interesting Pets: I have an eleven-year-old son, Drew, who’s in 2nd grade at Prairie Hill Waldorf School. He loves golf, baseball and football. My daughter, Haley, is eight and in 3rd grade at Prairie Hill Waldorf School. She enjoys playing with her Little Pet Shops and Ballet dancing. My husband, Bob, is in the machine tool industry and my worst patient! We have a ten-year-old lab, Sprecher, who enjoys hunting, eating, (and sleeping). Our two-year-old Doberman, Reno, enjoys beating up Sprecher, running with me, and chasing squirrels. we also have 5 fish, and 1 red Thai crab.
Dr. Jurack Has Many Hobbies, Interests, and Activities: If you need to find me you only need to look outside…I enjoy running (5K-1/2 marathons). I train with my dog Reno and my son Drew; Weight training; Hiking; Gardening; Fishing; Waterskiing; Downhill Skiing; Golf; Watching my kids sporting events; Attending Badger Football games or Admirals Hockey games.
